The Magician’s Nephew by C.S. Lewis is the first book in The Chronicles of Narnia (in internal chronological order) and serves as a prequel to The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. It tells the origin story of Narnia’s creation and how evil first entered the world. The novel follows two children, Digory Kirke and Polly Plummer, who discover magical rings that transport them to different worlds. They encounter Jadis, the future White Witch, and witness the creation of Narnia by Aslan. The book explores themes of courage, temptation, and the power of good over evil, providing important backstory for the rest of the Narnia series.
